Study in Motion
Very simple, very messy set up. The model stood still while I made piles of sifted flour on various body parts, then she moved her various body parts. My biggest fear was that the studio lights would ignite the flour dust and we would explode. Thankfully that did not happen. If you have time to view these at full size I highly recommend it!
Ahg, Visioluxus has the best visual concepts and gets goddamn results.
sheofsilence asked: Hey there! I met you last year at Anime Expo and (luckily for me) saved your business card! Are you still making/selling those awesome cosplay fragrances? If so, please please please say you'll be back at AnEx LA this year, so I can order a set from you!
YES! I will be there! I don’t have my table info yet, but I’ll be sure to post it once I do! *hugs*
Earlier today, I read an interview with Erika Moen, the awesome cartoonist behind the webcomics “DAR!” and “Bucko.” The interview is linked below, but you don’t necessarily have to read it to understand this post. (You’re probably not as infatuated with Erika Moen as I am, and…
Bill Nye talked about how you could make “moss milk” and pour it onto your sidewalks to see how they’d grow and multiply! I think it would be fun to take it to another level like this :D
There is a lot of discussion of what is and is not quote-Steampunk-With-A-Capital-S-unquote.
Richard Castle investigates Steampunk in an episode of “Castle”.For a while I didn’t have a good definition of my own (only that it’s “yesterday’s future, today!”), but then I had the very good…
Commissions for Charity 2.0!
Hey, wanna help the Earth?
I work for a very green company, and every Earth Month (which, for us, starts in Feb. and ends in April) we have donation drives for the Surfrider Foundation ([link]) and the Global Greengrants Fund ([link]). Both of these organizations are worthy causes that help keep our oceans and waterways clean.
Our donation goal company-wide ranges in the millions. Our specific location’s goal is $4,000 for each organization, and I’d like to do all I can to raise funds.
Last year I made jewelry and sculpted fragrance bottles for the company to sell for the charities (with awesome success!), and a couple of you wonderful people did commission me. If any of you would like to commission me for anything this year between now and the first week of May—which is our deadline—100% of the proceeds will go to Surfrider.
Be a good human and save the planet! Prices (not including shipping) are as follows:
***Sketches— $2 (+$1 for additional characters)
***Drawings— $5 (+$1 for additional characters)
***Ink and pencil drawings— $10 (+$2 for additional characters)
***Digital painting— $15 (+$4 for additional characters)
***Traditional watercolor & goache painting— $20 (+$4 for additional characters)
***Fanfic or story— $5-$15, depending on length
***Tentacle sculptures/jewelry— $5-$15, depending on item
***Custom cosplay fragrances (unsculpted)— $10 per dram
***Custom cosplay fragrances (sculpted)— $20
Or if you’d rather just make a donation yourself (every dollar helps!), just note me.

Yeah, I suppose that is a valid answer… thought when it when it comes to organic and realistic character faults, I would still have to go with Bottom over Helena. Cuz Helena is a whiny bitchface, though she is hysterical to watch on stage.
Day 3: Your favorite characters and which books they’re from
Hmm..
- The Fool from Robin Hobb’s Farseer / Liveship Traders / Tawny Man Trilogies
- Helena from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
- Polgara from David Eddings’ Belgariad
- Benjy from Wiliam Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury
- Hermione from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series
- Esther from Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar
- Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare’s Macbeth
- Éponine from Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables
Ok. I just have to ask. WHY HELENA? She is the most insufferable character in that play. She’s whiny, she’s jealous, she’s a stalker, she is willing to be beaten/abused by the man she’s obsessed with, and in the end when he finally loves her ONLY BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY ONE STILL UNDER THE SPELL, she’s totes ok with that. Her lust for him is so deep that she is more than willing to take advantage of Demetrius while he’s essentially been slipped a magic roofie (and it’s inferred that they KNOW something of the sort happened to all of them that night).
Not that Demetrius is a good guy, but still, of all the awesome characters to choose, why is she your favorite? Just out of curiosity and my own deep obsessions with the play.
Also, good call on the Fool <3
